Uncover the Hidden Market
In the final weeks before graduation, I am beginning to build a list of prospective employers and building my network. Using Google Maps I began to search for San Francisco Bay Area companies to explore. I have created a SF Target List and will continue to add to it as I continue my search. This is an additional way to find prospective companies that I had not considered previously.
This is simply a beginning list, I will continue to research these companies. Some have job postings on their site and I am able to apply directly to these sights. However, reaching out and connecting to these companies and establishing a relationship or exploring networking opportunities are far more effective job search strategies.

Nick Phillips is a Music Programming Consultant and Jazz Playlist Curator for iHeartRadio in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is connected with John Douglas and Caley Chapman. I will reach out to him on LinkedIn. I have known John Douglas since High School and Caley Chapman is a young musician from the Reno area.
Another person I would like to reach out to on LinkedIn is Nina Bombardier. I met her at Fantasy Studios nearly 20 years ago and I think she would have some ideas on ways to network in the music business in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Saul Zaentz Film Center appears to have been sold to Concord Music which was originally located in Concord, CA, however they are now located in Southern California. Many years ago I had some contacts at Concord Music and Fantasy Studios, however there has clearly been changes in management and ownership. I will be exploring my LinkedIn account to see if there are any opportunities to connect with individuals listed above. I will also try to see if I can reach out to my old instructors from Los Medanos College to see if they have suggestions on networking in this area. Most of my networking at this point does have to be remotely as the Bay Area is a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive from my current home in Nevada.
